We’ve all seen ads on the sides of cabs, but it’s Manchester cabbies and their famous gift-of-the-gab who became the stars of the show in the city recently. Souters turned the region’s cabbies into driving, talking advertisements in its latest bid to convert the nation into bread lovers. Hundreds of loaves descended on Manchester as taxi drivers donning Warburtons T-shirts and tattoo’s headed out onto our streets to spread the word on bread last Friday. The activity supports the latest TV advertising campaign by the family baker which is based around a taxi ride. The 60sec creative is shot through the eyes of a Japanese businessman in a cab as he visits the UK for the first time. Through the course of the advert, he gradually realises that all is not as expected, as everything and everyone seems to be part of the Warburtons family! Those who took a ride in one of the chosen cabs in Manchester on Friday were able to view the latest TV campaign on a LCD screen and also received a voucher for a free loaf of Warburtons bread. The work is part of a national campaign by the family bakers that saw cabbies the length and breadth of the country converted into Warburtons ambassadors!
